The tender is aimed at young academics from all disciplines who have submitted an excellent dissertation of particular social significance in 2023. With three top prizes of 25,000 euros each, it is one of the most highly endowed prizes for young researchers in Germany.
We want to encourage young academics to confidently represent the social value of their research and contribute to the public debate. With the German Academic Award, we therefore honour doctoral graduates who have presented research findings that are of outstanding interest to society. The patron of the prize is the President of the German Bundestag, Bärbel Bas.
